Host Yee hah we got us some cable modem. I cannot tell you how pathetic it is that this is the highlight of my week.

In other news, I had my daycare training through the Air Force. If I abide by their rules and agree to inspections through their offices I can use their lending library for the big ticket items I need to start up: tables, chairs, cubbies, etc. So I had to drive there every evening last week. I got sick of the driving because the damn traffic here is insane. But I am glad I went because I actually met some really cool ladies and I got a lot of good information about how I can validate my business professionally.

For instance, one of the things I have to do for the AF regs is do one "module" of training each month, for a total of 18 modules. I can do them more often than one per month and when I'm done, they'll help me get two different certifications: one is for family child care homes for which the AF will pay, and one is called a CDA certification which they mentor me through. Apparantly a CDA cert can qualify you for management positions in child care centers. One of the ladies who did family care for years is now the director of child care for one of the largest casino/resorts in town. And she gets paid well.

So all in all I'm really glad to hear that I can get some sort of professional experience out of this. I'm getting more and more excited about opening my doors. Child care is something I know I am good at. And as much as I know you will all hear me complain about it, it's something I actually enjoy. I really love the toddler/preschool age and I'm really looking forward to providing a really great environment for the kids.

And I am looking forward to the money I'll be earning.

Michael has never, ever played the "I make the money" crap with me; we've always considered it "our" money. He's always been adamant that I work as hard as he does, but it will be really nice to have a tangible reward for a job well done. I'm looking forward to depositing that money into my account each week.

In other news, I am wiped out. The drive to and from base is easily 45 minutes each way and I've been up late every night trying to relax and get something to eat (we didn't get a dinner break at all) and I've been getting up to take the kids to school each morning and it was killing me. I slept until 1:00 pm today. And I still feel like I could go back to sleep.

But we got the next two discs of Six Feet Under so I know we'll be up late watching that, too.

Blah, now I have to put the kids to bed.
